Decided to put a kit in my mate's Clubby clutch slave cylinder to go with his `new' motor.
Took it apart, gave it a quick hone and then found the new 7/8" seal in the kit wouldn't fit.
?????
Somebody has sleeved it with S/S. Would be nice if they'd bored the casting out bigger first, then bored the sleeve to 7/8" and used stock seals and piston!
Now I need to go find a 13/16" cup seal instead.

Mine is undersized ..to allow for the other non standard bits. A smaller bore gives a bigger throw.

At the time it was made I was told that older Toranas used the same (or at least similar but with reduced bore) cylinder.

Cheers, Ian

That may be what it's off, as the piston, & seal spreader are `undersized' too.
I'm sure it'll work fine, once I get a 13/16" cup seal [on Tuesday?] here's hoping B&R Brakes are open this week..

Would the sleeve take a careful 1/16 removal?

Good luck setting it up to run true first. And the piston it has won't fit If I bore it out.
Nah I'll just get a 13/16" cup.
It's only running a stock Cooper S blue dot diaphragm. Motor is a `short stroke 1108' (68mm bore, 998 crank)

And the piston it has won't fit If I bore it out...get another :!:

Nah I'll just get a 13/16" cup....sounds like a plan :!:

It's only running a stock Cooper S blue dot diaphragm...only :?:

Motor is a `short stroke 1108' (68mm bore, 998 crank)...nice :D

And the cheap ones are all missing an essential part (seal spreader).
All fixed, I put a new 13/16" cup seal in it. :P

Seal spreader, it keeps the seal in contact with the bore.
Without it, they suck air once the seal starts to wear.
Can't buy them as a spare part now but DrMini has made a few up from HDPE.
Spring sits inside it. Originals had 3 holes but it's easier to space 4 on my mill.
