Just browsing different cams available. Would the GR 266 ss suit a 998 for road use?
Cheers,
Steve

Sure would, I've just put one into an 1108 (a 998 bored to 68mm).
With twin HS2s, a GR modded 202 head and an LCB it should sing nice. Rockers are refaced stock 998s with a new HD shaft.

BTW I had a Wade 104 in a 1293, even with 1.5 rockers and twin HS4s on that I was not impressed.

What are the specs for a GR 266 compared with a Wade 104.

Im not sure, they are advertised on mini kingdom site.
Just took a snap a the top of my pistons, how do I tell what size they are? None have std or any oversize marks that I can see anywhere. Below is a pic:

GR 266 + twin HS2s, a GR modded 202 head and an LCB, refaced rockers stock 998s with a new HD shaft for under a grand?

still on your unbuilt 998?

go for it.

PS. please compare apples with apples.

Maybe - Many standard pistons don't have any size markings. Do you have any vernier callipers to measure the bore size? Well worth getting a set especially if your going to be doing your own repairs.

I have a friend who does the bore side of things so might have to take it down to him to measure :-). What is the standard 998 measurement ?
Cheers,
Steve

The standard 12G202 head is 26.1cc.

You'd need to skim the head or use some pistons with less dish in them.

I bought a "stage one kit" from minispares last year for about $500:
Exhaust manifold
Full exhaust
Intake manifold
KN filter
To go with a HS4 single carb.

Just a quick qu, is the 26.1cc for the 12g202 just the head volume or head volume and volume of dished piston combined?
