went into the man cave today, removed the winter coat, lifted the bonnet, thought to myself, WHAT THE &#%K! closed the bonnet, replaced the cover, walked over to the fridge, smiled and settled in for the afternoon with some internal lubrication and completely ignored the constant knocking on the locked door, can't think who it might have been, :-/

I've been trying to find a spot for everything in the new garage. The shelves are rated to 750kg each, which is more than a mini per shelf :D

While I love my roundy, I have always hankered for a "modern" (clubman) mini.

Thanks Phil

Took a look at the old girls for the first time in 4 weeks. Need a stack of time put aside to keep working on the 62. Now have a pair of heritage guards to fit up.

Drove my 850 to Springwood to the custom and hot rod show.
Must have been about 7 minis on display along with all the other cars.
Great day.
850 ran faultlessly :D

Replaced my condenser, cleaned and gapped my plugs and fettled my timing a bit. Running pretty sweet now.

Added a couple of switches with some very 70s labelling.

Finally removed my ply dash fascia and vinyl wrapped it. changed my starter button from cheezy light up red bling to the chrome goodness.
I also decided to recess some rare earth magnets in the fascia (after wrapping it hahaha) so I can slap my phone against it.
That's my long weekend dusted. Now enjoying a frothy.

Spent the weekend down the south coast in Huskisson, took the mini down with us and got plenty of attention in the caravan park. On the way home we were driving near kangaroo valley and every now and then heard a small 'ting' like a rock flicking up underneath.

Decided to check it out and pull over, turns out the nut had come off the rubber mount for the exhaust and it was hanging about an inch off the ground! Had to steal a 1/2" nut from my booster to get her home, but all was good!

Drove the mini to the garage, had the new disc brake conversion fitted and drove the mini home. Got the kit from the UK months ago and have had it sitting in corner of the shed. Was planning on doing the job myself but am in the middle of a house extension at the moment and my shed is so full of stuff from the house and the builders bits and bobs I can just about get the car in and out !! Decided it would be money well spent to just get it done and enjoy driving the car and boy was it a good decision. I cant believe how different it was driving it with the disc brakes, they haven't even bedded in yet but difference in stopping power and confidence that the car will stop is amazing.

They did make things to last back then

Over the weekend - Finished doing the timing as best as I can for now, cleaned up the new ECU wiring & put the dash back on, tested lights etc are working, removed the gear-change rod & stabiliser for fixing/adjustment.
I then realised that I haven't got any power to the sound system....

Once the gear-change is done the next job is to re-fill the gearbox with oil & take it to be fixed so it doesn't leak.
I might sort out some power to the head-unit too.
