I finally found the last piece for my jigsaw. An AWA 25M carphone two-way as originally fitted to the NSW Police Mk2 "S' STP cars back in the day. This will go very nicely in my ex-NSW Police Mk2 'S' ... along with all the other genuine NSW Police period accoutrements I have been collecting over the past twelve months.

Woot!

WOW!!

I was blown away by what it went for.....

I was going to buy it and was prepared to pay $200....

Stacks more than what I expected

But if it was the last thing needed, I can understand I suppose

Congratulations on finding that elusive last piece.

Made up a bronze threaded adaptor to replace the bit that broke off the back of my near new 200KMH S speedo where the cable screws on.
No wonder that it broke, it's an M12x1.0 thread with an 8.5mm OD bronze bush inside it. Bottom of this thread diameter is about 11.0mm, so there was only 2.5mm/2 = 1.25mm of metal (cast alloy) thickness. Too bloody weak....!

Removing the scores of small dings in the front floor pans. The front ender the car had obviously bent up the front floor pans which were just hammered flat. I've got to remove the dozens of small hammer marks as best I can.

Also removing buckets of garnet still coming out of every orrifice in the car

Stripped down both rear brake assemblies and they've been soaking in degreaser all day. Next time I'll be properly cleaning them, respraying, repairing and replacing the components and putting them back together. Got the final patches welded on, ground it all back. Also got half the bogging done. Will be sanding that down and primer all over next time.

Ordered a new tacho (Auto Gage, 8000rpm) for the Mini. My 1971 vintage ex-Fiat 124BC one is now jumping around like an old Clubby one, the needle damping has finally gone awol.
