No holes need to be drilled in the door which is nice! I'll trim the bolt down a little to neaten it up inside

Got a new speedo cable and I can now see how slow or how fast I am going.

A rear view mirror with Zoom feature, just slide the window back for wide angle, forward for telephoto 8)

Today we replaced the timing cover gasket, cleaned the top of the block in prep for the new head gasket, taped up the head and resprayed it black AND ordered my new number plates. 67-MIN, to finally represent the real year it was built :D.

Another busy day tomorrow!

A new battery and a jerry can of fuel so I could get the dark blue 850 running in case I had to get the cars to higher ground. Lifted the high value parts and tools up to the high shelves in the shed.

The creek peaked late in the afternoon at a very safe level so I needn't have bothered.

I pulled the LF driveshaft & hub out, as it's due for new Timken wheel bearings and balljoints after 130,000 miles in 25 years.
Found the CV was worn where the bearing sits, also the outer splines of the GT driveshaft was damaged where the spring clip sits.
So, it's also getting a new (Italian) CV and a Mini Deluxe driveshaft. :) My U/Js are Hardy Spicer but the spline is the same.
I crossdrilled the new CV's single split pin hole so I only need ~150ft/lb torque to align the split pin.

Sprayed the inserts on a steering wheel silver to match the dash and installed the new steering wheel.

After the discussion the last week on old school wheel alignments, I set about performing a four wheel alignment on the red mini.

I'm aligning them all to a center line chassis datum front and rear, and also doing the camber on all four wheels.
