Could be worse. My boss always seems to find a way of hitting himself in the nuts :o

Fitted the headers and mini spares inlet manifold. What a pita to fit surley it would have only taken a few minutes to modify the moulds so you can get a small socket on the 3rd stud from the left. I adjusted it with a die grinder.

Socket is tight and just comes off. I will buy a cheap one and turn it down in the lathe to make it fit nicely.

Is that all? I had one where the studs were 3mm> with respect to the ports. We had to TIG weld one end of the flanges to build them up, then mill all the flange ends and slots again.
WHY cannot people machine new things properly....

Agree a simple trial fit is not that hard

I dropped a grease gun while restructuring the workshop, and put a 1 inch scratch down the front guard

I reclaimed some AYA6001 cast iron rack dampers. Now NLA new.
They wear over time; when they are too short to not reach above the rack body and allow shimming, I cook the oil out with the oxy torch, then braze the end up where the wave washers sit (with nickel bronze rod) and re-machine them ~1mm longer.

[edit] A pic-

I got door glass in both sides of the 850. Also got passenger door trims and chrome. Passenger door mirror too.
Inside firewall and wheel arch felt glued in.
Brake light switch fitted to pedal box.
Boot lid on. That seal I had painstakingly installed was too stiff so out it came and all 22 ferking clips and on went a seal on the body instead.

Steering column in just so I could push it around. Not final until carpets sorted.

Started measuring out holes for clips for grille whiskers.

Not on the mini exactly but related to what I will do to it next. Started reading Tuning BL's A series engine by David Vizard, thought it would be good to understand some basics before I decide what engine to build.

Took me 6 months but I finally finished turning my 8x5 cage trailer into a mini car trailer. Takes about 10 minutes to change it back.

Not on the mini, but on Saturday I staged a race between minisport UK and minisport AUS.
Aus is the winner with my new hi-lo's and trumpets arriving today..
Still waiting on the cones, and some other bits and pieces.

Got the brake light pressure switch working again (tapped gently with a hammer, cleaned terminals).
