OK if I was to put a blower on a 1098 what HP could I expect? I know it is a bit of an open ended question but I am trying to assess what to do. The only problem I can see going this way is that most, if not all insurance companies won't insure a superchaged car unless it was fitted OEM and then they charge like a wounded bull.

You could expectanywhere from 60-100+HP depending on state of tune..I looked into insurance..not worth it for me, cheaper to go a 1275 with similar out put..insurance wise..

GR has had 110HP at crank from a 1098 without a blower or turbo.. so I would think more than 100.

Heres a thought.... DONT tell the insurance company.

I prefer not to insure.... thats just my choice.

Here's a thought. Lose everything in a lawsuit that I have worked for. No thanks. It is different if you have no assets, THEN insurance companies can only garnish your wages. Think about it.

Not exactly. My point is if it's good for that figure in race trim you should be able to get near that with a turbo or blower, in a street one.

On a standard 1098 with 8psi should get around 70- 75HP at the wheels, Insurance if pre 75 no emission laws in SA so tell Transport SA they don't care , then shannons don't care.

Try contacting Frank Cook and Associates located on the Gold Coast. Tell Frank that Greg Coates sent you, he will look after you. I have had all of my modified cars insured through his brokerage. He always gets the best deals and insures all over the country. He has insured a mates modified Skyline show car that puts out around 300kw at the wheels, he did my modified Porsche 930, a CRX feature car with worked engine, 20k worth of stereo gear, leather etc etc, and all my minis. You wont have any problems, but you MUST declare all of your mods.

how longs a piece of string??

hehe now that i've got that outta the way,
a standard 1100 puts out 50hp at the crank right?
prolly looking at maybe 70-80hp depending on how much boost etc etc

helps if you have an 1100 that puts that out before boost
