Piston machining (either fly-cutting for valve reliefs, or lopping the tops off to lower compression for forced induction)
GT25-60 ball bearing Turbo
turbo exhaust manifold & dump pipe
inlet plenum chamber
2" throttle body
Throttle position switch
air temp sensor
MAP sensor
crank angle sensor
cam angle sensor
water temp sensor
wiring loom made to suit
intercooler & hoses/pipes
oil feed hose to the turbo (& to the cyl head if using 8v)
oil filler
dipstick mod
top radiator bracket
L/H engine steady bar bracket (SC havn`t got one designed yet) i do :-)

& we use the BMW head bolts where we can, makes it easy & they`re very very good quality

most of the stuff you have listed above Kiwi, would normally be used/spent on any engine/gearbox rebuild anyways, silly if you didn`t hey?

Labour to build one of these can vary from $2000 to $4000 , again depending on your wish list & intended purpose/power output

& i`d use a Quaife diff instead of a 4-pin

& if you take away the price of all the "Usual" rebuild/recon stuff/parts, then you can end up with just the Twinky conversion price yeah?

Thanks Matt,

I did miss the sensor stuff

So one could build a Twinky (pro built) for under $10k non turbo.

The prices I used where retail so some savings could be gained by mates rates / trade etc.

I left the other stuff in as it would be pointless building a Twinky on a tired engine and box and if you where going to spend $10k you may as well do it once and properly

and you could possibly squeeze a run on a dyno to check the fueling once its all done.

I am keen on doing one, but would like to drive a normally aspirated one first. I would have to sell my Cooper 64 to funded it. The engine would go in my Riley Elf and have collected a A+ box and engine as a base.

Drilling the bolt etc / piston cut out won't be diffcult as I have a friend who has a workshop full of lathes / mills and a special jig to fly cut valve recess in pistons as its commonly done on high performance motor bikes which he is in too

Oh and I am still trying to find a cylinder head.

Does your build guide cover off all the key stuff like sensors etc,

yeah, it`s a pretty well packed with all the info you need, the common stuff like crank angle sensors & air & water temp sensors are all avaliable from the wrecking yards for cheap as chips these days, & obviously new if you were all anal/finicky/particular , but no need to buy new, they`re all so reliable & cheap 2nd hand, even the coil-over ignitors i buy 2nd hand from toyota Yaris or soarer & such cheap as chips (especially if you know the owner of the wrecking yard) ;-)

heads are probably better to buy from germany or the USA now-days, Aust is getting pretty sold-out these days, as there was a bit of a rush for them in recent times :-) :-) :-) (funny that) :-) :-) :-) , now if you rang any one of the Aussie bike wreckers now & you will get --> "You want this for a mini mate?" type answer

& yes, i`m sorry, i`m biased, the Turbo Injected twin-Cam bug has got me & i`m hooked :-) so if anyone asks me , i always suggest turbo inject them :-)

they`re great as N/A too, don`t get me wrong,,, smooooooth as silk & much much faster than even the high-end, top dollar 5 & 7-ports, but Twinkys are still smooooth as silk while doin it :-) no big rough nasty race cams are needed

this is the beauty of the them, great power with wonderfully smooth power delivery "ALL" the way through the rev range
