Mine van's a 1132cc with 1.5" SU, extractors, 12G295 head, 731 cam and leccy ign.

I get 240km+ around town and up to 270km on a long highway run. 25L tank.

My fuel gauge does not work, so I generally just fill up every 150 miles. It saves embarrasment when it runs out on the fast lane of the Geelong Freeway

Cheers,

I've been getting about 270kms from about 19-20L, Ive got a stock 1100 74 leyland (oh a redline airfilter and badly tuned to probably run rich, closest thing to a mod :) ) And that's with me revving out most gears, do alot of 80/90 zones though but I thought with a 4 speed that would ruin economy, less stopping I guess.

Do you guys fill it up till it clicks or until it dribbles out?

I normally pull it out a notch but never put more than 21L in and that's with the gauge about 1/2 cm below empty.

It sounds like changing the carbies, exhaust etc kills fuel economy big time. Guess that's what you get with carbies vs Fuel Injection.

I put 25.5L in the other day! It was fairly empty.

I guess I'm going to have to write down the milage when I fill up next time.

When Morris was not sick I'd ask the wife to watch how we got. But she kept forgetting. Once Morris is on the road again its something I want to check again

I should have said I usually only have to put in 20L-22L to fill it after 150 miles (240km) around town. I worked out I get 9L to the 100km around town and 7L to 100km on a highway run (3.65 diff, steady 100km/h). This compares pretty well with a modern tin-box hatchback.

I usually fill it until the pump clicks off, then fill it slowly until the fuel is up to about 2"-3" below the top of the filler neck. Vans have a longer filler neck than a sedan.

Cheers,
