Does any one know or what are the recomendation on what sorta/size turbo to use on an A+ ?? I think im gonna go with a garret turbo. A custom manifold will be made to mount the turbo above the clutch to save me from hacking the cross member..

Cheers

Daniel

Well i have an A+ motor and box, not too sure about the internals as yet. And i was looking to intercool it as well, but as we all know it always comes down to the determining factor $$
So what model would be suitable for a 1275 A+?? G2 G3 G25?? OR ?
Cheers
Daniel

a t25 is pretty small and should boost pretty early on in the scheme and unless you wanna run 20psi, should cope ok... that what i have...

Just to add to this turbo discussion - how hard is it to convert a HIF to blow through use for a turbo?

Midel in Sydney can do it- someone posted prices here a while back. I think around $250 to convert? $500 for a new turbo one!

Just read vizards bible and he says you need to put a restrictor in the inlet, seal the throttle spindle and run a line to the float chamber so the carb effectively 'sees' the boost...

How did kazjim do it to his boosted 998?

for a 1275 with unknown internalls and compression i would run a garrett t2 from a turbo pulsar or exa... i would run it on the lowest boost the wastegate will let you (think there set to 5 or 6psi)... The reason i say the T2 is that it will come on boost around the 2000-2500rpm mark and most are only oil cooled so alot easier to fit a motor that wasnt made for a turbo. basically saves running water lines to it.

Im running a T25 on my 1330 toyota motor in my mini and boost comes on around 3000rpm and hits full boost (12psi) by 4500rpm. On an a series add another 500rpm-1000rpm i think.

Then there is always the GT17 and GT20 turbos found on late model saabs, same flange as the T2 turbos but start boosting at 1500rpm  These will boost to over 16psi.

Gt25 would be way over the top for an a series, as on the starlet motors these will be just as laggy as a normal t25 but will hold boost over 20psi. Big dollars too.

Just to clarify the motor isnt in the car as yet...
And i realy want to feel the oommmph kick in late, i want to feel the push back in the seat  so where would that leave me? I guess that would leave me with a lot of lag?
