Hey guys,

another question re my engine build

I am building another small bore, and I wish to stay under 1200cc.

Its a shame the use of Hillman Imp pistons takes it to 1215cc.

What pistons can I use (mini or non mini) to achieve the maximum cc, but staying under 1200cc.

My block is sitting here waiting to go in to get bored/honed, just need to know what to.

Based on a quick calculation +0.100" should take a 1098 to 1185cc's.

<edit> I also recall GR having +0.100" pistons for 1098's

I'm sure they come with rings in the price but as to what that is I don't know - they were included in the total price of the assembly. Best ask him. GR has them made to his specs in Tiawan. I had to wait nearly 2 years for them as his first shipment went 'missing' and as by world scale his order was a small one they put the re-run to the bottom of the pile

I think they are around $275 a set. GR pistons are made in Taiwan, (Hypatecs are too). These come with a Nippon ringset, they are good. Better than Hastings.

I'm sure he has them in stock - as part of the order went to MS in the UK and needs them for his own stock as well.

Haven't worked out compression yet - running 295 head hence the flat tops.

thanks, once again for everyone's comments.

I was planning on using a 940 head, would the flat tops still work with the modifications to the block?

Yes.
But your C/R will be pretty high unless you enlarge the chambers heaps, stock they are only 21.4cc.
