Are pod filters still legal, I was told Da Fuzz was jumping on these for defect fodder?
Maybe only with the riceboys...

Its enclosed in my engine bay haha.
If a cop pulls me over, ive been doing something stupid in the first place...

If I need to enclose it, I will... but for now, its staying as is.

Fat Boy Dave - Yep, its overkill and prolly bigger than needed but its a washable really really strong, well built filter so I thought, why not.

I needed something asap - and this was the best quality I could get that I could mount at work in the carpark :-)

Peter.

Well, time for a bit of an update.
Things were going well... but had some 'issues' :)

First thing was going up a hill at Castle Hill... nailed it and oil pressure dropped to 0
Oil friggin EVERYWHERE...

Turns out the oil return from the turbo split and dumped all my oil.
A new hose and a few scratches later it was all back to working fine.

Next thing was my head mods.
The head has been extensively worked by GR but with the roller tipped rockers on didnt have enough lift. The rocker angle was really bad and the rockers needed to be raised.
Dr Mini made me some spacers 2mm thick and we set those up and things were a bit better, but rocker angle still bad... it started to chew the top of the valves up pretty bad.

Thought I would leave it a little longer for now, but Jenna decided she wouldnt have it.
Blew the exhaust manifold gasket on 1st and 2nd ports and was farting around.

So, off with the turbo parts and head for work.
Installed a new exhaust Manifold gasket (but the metro turbo one with metal backing - nice :D)

Head was off, so fixed the valves at GRs and then decided to sort out the geometry.
GR said it needs more packing, in the end, it needed 5mm under the rocker posts to get the rockers to move correctly and sit right.

Now, as you may have guessed already that much spacing causes other issues.
First, I put the head and rockers back on, and the pushrods couldnt reach the rockers :(

Ok, well, this 1100 needs 1275 pushrods :)
Put in 1275 pushrods, adjusted everything and bolted everything together...

BUT, its never that easy... now the 2nd rocker actually fouls on the rocker cover- there is a plate under the breather and it hits there... enough to lift the rocker cover up and down :)

Two gaskets or mods to the cover will fix that...

More info soon...

Pete

Geez Pete

That is so increadibly neat compared to the turbo set ups I see in magazines! All the others have pipe work going every where! I like it. 8)
