Yeah Gadget use gasless, my Mig is dually but try with the gas and couldn't get a decent bead and too lazy to persevere. Will get it done someday but a the mo the gasless while producing a bit of spatter give very good results for me. As for brand etc I will have a look tomorrow and PM you.

Cheers

Well guys finished the manifold. Could have spent hours grinding down welds but decided just to finish it and paint it. It goes on the car tonight.

Thanks Bara coming from a man who knows good work that means a lot. Cheers. Can't wait to see what difference it makes especially with the uprated turbo. Next the intake pipe!!!

Well done Matt.

First pic looks a little freaky. Doesn't look real, looks look its a CAD drawing.

Stripey yeah especially that first one. I got a sanding disc attached to my drill and it made the edges really cool. I could have spend much longer making the welds etc look reall smooth but in a number of places I have read not to grind welds down as it weakens the welded joint. I will put the thing on tonight and attach the turbo for the last time which will be a real milestone. Anybody have ideas on lines kits for turbos I have one lined up with ModYourCar but it is $280 (all braided) but I was wondering if there was a suitable cheaper alternative.

Cheers

Top job Matt.

As far as smoothing the welds you can buy special flap sanding disks for your 4inch grinder, they work a treat. I don't think you would weaken your welded areas to much as the elbows have the 45 chamfer on them and that allows the weld to virtually fill the full thickness of your tube. I chamfered my straight steam pipes too so that i could get as much weld into the joins before grinding.

As far as lines for the turbo i went down to the auto shop and bought rubber hose for the water lines, cost $10, two nipples for the turbo from pirteck $35, Oil feed line (fuel line or petrochemical resistent line) $10 and Oil return line, again a oil resistent line for $20. Total $75 bucks. Keep in mind my turbo is further away.

Once again top job.

Dan

Yeah Hugh I could of spent several more hours grinding and polishing but I though F I that'll do. And I kind of like leave it looking workmanlike. And my main objective was FLOWWWW. 8)

M

PS. That's why I said come around Sunday as I had a fair amount done and you could have seen something...
