Well I dropped the Minstar off at the shop to see if they could sort out the problem with the fuel starvation. Here's the lowdown:
1. Rust particals (I think from the right hand tank) shredded my brand new bosch pump. Also almost completely blocked and ruined the EFI fuel filter. (bad)
2. Guys supplied me with a Perburg EFI pump (rated to 500hp) for $200 less than retail (good).
3. Have sorted out high idle so now sits at 800rpm (very good).
4. Found out what those little black boxes attach to the loom near ECU were, one is indeed an FCD and guess what the other is a speed limiter defencer! (very good), so my dream to hit 360km/h is still possible!
5. According to his dyno I have lost 10kw at 7psi so now I am only doing 60kw which I am not so happy with. But I am now putting out 511Nm of torque (seriously that's what it says on the dyno sheet!). Obviously I am highly sceptical of the reading or maybe I ain't reading it right because it now means my Minstar has a similar torque output to the 5.5 Ltr AMG Mercedes SLK.
6. All was sorted supposedly but the car died going up Red Hill and 4 more times on the way home, most likely because the filter on the fuel pump has become clogged pretty much straightaway (bad). So I am going out first thing tomorrow to sort out.
Yeah a long post and I don't expect anyone to read it mainly having a whinge...
