yeah Ive been looking at oil pumps and water pumps what are the ones to Use on a warmed 998 or 1100 what would it be Pindrive or slot drive ? is there a Spider drive or is that for Something totaly different and what is a SPIDER drive?
All Oz 998s were pin drive except automatics which were spider drive.
Cooper S was pin drive.
1275 non-S (A series) were spider drive.
Pin drive has a pin thru the cam and a slot in the pump shaft.
Spider drive uses a splined pump shaft, with a triangular `spider' that sits on it and engages its 3 corners in the camshaft.
Slot drive is the opposite of pin drive- the cam has a slot in the back face which engages a tongue on the pump shaft.
A+ motors are all slot drive (except maybe A+ automatics, never seen one

).
Use whatever pump suits the cam you have, any pump will do the job- but these days the slot drive are preferred.
