My intention is to scour the Jap wreckers for a Honda Civic shuttle if I cant find a wrecked/imported AE95 Toyota. I still dont know anyone who has imported a EP85 as a cut ot whole car.
Excellent Andrew - just don't get yours finished before mine
the AWD Corolla motor I looked at (I *think* it's a 4AFE, likely to be mistaken tho) was at the wreckers/importers in Wodonga, so they are about, it's probably still there (sitting next to the SR20 that no-one wanted to buy, the diff for which is sitting under a tree in the back of their yard in it's subframe complete with back brakes, $2500 for the whole lot)...
I found my honda through partslocator.com.au (bastards want a subscription fee now, was free when I used it - damn people trying to stay in business). The awd honda was only sold in Australia in 1988/1989 as a Honda Civic Wagon AWD, no mention of Shuttle, that was a USA/Europe variant. After 1990, honda dropped the wagon variant. The local honda dealer told me that there were only 400 civics sold in 1988/1989, across the whole country, so the percentage of them that were the AWD wagon must be very low...
here's the redbook link for the one I bought, there's a mistake in it, it was twin carb, not single, but it IS a 6 speed manual
