fuzzy...you're not being cheap....I'm really hoping inazuma was being sarcastic!
Shocks on the front do not need to be adjustable, or the best on the market. Just a bog standard damper to limit the pitching a little. The rear hydro bumps are what make a huge difference. I haven't tried fronts yet, but might next time I'm due to hit a track. Probably too hard for normal road use (and who said hydros have to be 'floaty'!)
I agree with the statements before about future proofing though. New hydro bag prices are just a joke - second hand are a little hard to find, and if you do who knows what the condition's like. If they've been dry stored forget it. Unfortunately there are monetary advantages to having what every one else has......
i was kinda kidding

although when i get motivated to do something i sacrifice almost every other aspect of my life for that 1 thing...like when i bought my mini 3yrs ago...i was earning $24,000pa working fulltime...and i managed to save $4000 in 4months...i ate nothing but cheap-as-shit pasta with homebrand pasta sauce for almost every meal for those 4 months...and it sucked...but i achieved my goal
now i am earning $38,000pa...so i have a bit more cash to throw at my mini
as far as the future proofing goes...i am currently running full hyrdos that work well as far as i can tell...but i am kinda paranoid about the whole system going tits up and costing me heaps just to get back to original spec...plus i dont have any of the gear required to service hydraulic components...would be better to spend $1000-$1500 on a new setup and be fairly sure that its not only going to last but that parts are going to be readily available over the counter for quite some time to come...added performance would be a must as well if i was spending that kinda dosh though...
