I'll be Over seeing the most part. You have to learn somehow. Mind you it will be nice to work on an motor thats not covered in 30 years of crud. It will be a nice easy simple process i feel. Then i get to do it all again when i put mine in. That will be in the next 2-3 weeks i think.

Cheers

Aaron

OK.. the 295 head is now on the Chongmobile (again), this time with studs, nuts and DrMini thick washers.. we took it for a lairize around the block, it's going much harder, it's all good.. :P
Lillee already has a reground cam of some sort in there- lift at lobe is 0.265", which is better than a 1098 or an S one.
Could be a Kent 266, according to my favourite cam grinder..

Another dyno day at Castle Hill will be coming up, soon.. I was talking with Brad & kazjim today.
We already have a few other takers, including about 4 or so bored 1098s.

Kazjim picked up my mildly ported 12G1316 (1275LS) head today to throw onto the unsuspecting 998 turbo. So, once it's sorted we'll head for the rollers... :P

I'll put both Ha-Ha (1360) and Barney (1293) on this time!

Oh man! The head's on and Lillee is growling! Gee she's a totally different car! I reckon at least 10hp for sure, if not more! It's getting err... scary fast, esp on drums

I think I really need to get her set up properly on a dyno...

Next mod is definately a new fuel pump... this mechanical one is making life difficult (hard to start and get her going, fuel line is too close to the exhaust). Also she smokes abit as I "cleaned" the pistons abit and I think oil is getting through the rings  The more I drive it the better it's getting... but the bigger compression doesn't really help.

Other than that she's a monster!  I really need brakes!

I dunno, Kev reckons 65-70 at the flywheel?

Honestly I have no idea... 'Kent 266" cam, 1152cc, 12G295 ported head, dellorto 45 with 34mm chokes... who knows

Sure is louder though  Lots of torque steer

GR said it would be more, with the right cam, exhaust and higher C/R...
C/R is probably only 9.0 or 9.5:1 tops, with those dished 1098 pistons.. even though the 295 head has had .080" or so off.

I'd be happy with 50 at the wheels. Not worth installing another cam, I think this will be it for the 1100 engine. Next engine has to be the 1360.

Before that though... brakes!
