Tah...but I will wait for Kens thoughts/recollections...when Mini's were racing at Bathurst they did experience uneven pad wear (wedging)..so swapping from side to side was said to even out the wear and therefore make the pads last longer...

Never heard of that
I see no reason for doing that as the wear should be even from side to side
The pads wear unevenly from top to bottom as the original calliper pistons had a step against the pad backing to tilt them slightly as they were applied. This was to stop squealing. Maybe they swapped them each side of the rotor to get longer life
