I fitted a shock absorber kit to the hydrolastic suspension on the Deluxe. Was a fairly straight forward process and everything fitted and worked well. It has improved the handling significantly, the ride quality as far as bumps, rough roads, etc is much the same as before (a little improvement). It doesn’t lift as much at the front when accelerating now, I didn’t mind that so much though as it gave the car a real take off kind of feel :D

Yep just a couple metres of Lucas bumblebee wire and 15 minutes work.

Couldn't really get the mesh headlight covers to fit nicely behind the clubman grill, so i decided to just attach them straight to the grill itself.
Sit a bit further out but fairly happy with the end result. gotta strip off the plastidip now and paint the grill black for good. Might paint the headlight grills black as well.

Gave bumble a bit of a wipe over and a little polish ready for a drive up to hanging rock tomorrow. Took him to get petrol and he was running very rough, Popping and back firing under load. Certainly turned a few heads in my way to the servo. Decided to make a detour and grab a new set of plugs while I was out. Headed home and changed the plugs over and went for a spin round the block. Boy what a difference, running like a dream now, that's if your dreams are filled with noisy and slightly smokey A series engines ;-)

Fitted new radiator and thermostat yesterday, pretty sure I still had the original factory radiator in there. Dropped it off at my local mechanic today to get a noisy throwout bearing changed. Would have done this myself but I'm pretty sure the neighbors have heard enough colourful language and spanners hitting concrete for now.
