I think it's ridiculous how people sell us 2nd rate spare parts that don't work properly without extra machining, or modifying, or adding missing parts.
It matters not how cheap it is, if it doesn't work properly.

I bought 2 from one of our better known suppliers a few years ago and they only lasted about 2000 miles each , 1 of them was used on a run to Hay , seriously how many times do you change gears on that trip?
when I rang them to inform them they were NOT AT ALL interested so I now get them sleeved and Bobs your uncle, and the Ford ones work well too.

I just recondition the old ones. A couple of bucks for a seal and a bit of a hone.
