Spent most of the morning opening out the bulkhead and pedal box holes so that the Honda clutch master cylinder and rubber boot would fit through. And ground off lots of the seating flange so that it wouldn't hit the Mini dual circuit master cylinder. Plus redrilling the holes in the seating flange so it would fit the pedal box studs. Then I noticed that the barrel of the Honda master cylinder projects well down into the hole, which meant making up a spacer so that I could cut down a Mini pushrod to fit. This should allow the clutch to achieve full stroke (28mm or so). Dunno yet. Hope so. All necessary coz the Honda B16A2 throttle body opens out very near the clutch master cylinder, and keeping any standard Mini master cylinder means I have to use an almost right angled air inlet from the filter, so THAT isn't going to happen.

For light relief I went to a mate's place to help him refit an exhaust system, and yes, it's not the extractor type. So, we needed to line up 3 brackets simultaneously, which, as we all know, is a bit of a bloody trial if you don't have 8 foot legs and prehensile toes to make them all slide on together. We celebrated our eventual success with a refreshing draft of Cooper S beer. The Croweaters among you will know what that is.

Cheers Timmy! 10x6, and treated them to some Yokohama A032Rs (to keep the Japanese theme up!).

I'll show photos of the car once I have done the KAD 7.9 vented conversion and its back on all 4's.

Cheers
Will

Picked up my 1963 850 today. Smoke grey with a red interior. Bit of rust in the boot and front panel a bit banged up but all good. Only cost me some moke parts I didn't want so its a win!

next time you have it out have a real good look at the bendix. Parts of it can crack and cause it to jam also.

Made a rod change support bush installer and remover.
Some one was asking about doing it the other day

They are made from scrap bronze. The material is super hard.

I know you could use a couple of sockets. But I like making tools to use on the mini

Nice tool!

I also love Wiily's watanabes they remind me of my MX5 set I used on the track. Ah the days...

I collected my gearbox from The Miniman and dropped the engine on it. Shame I forgot to buy a clutch cover crankshaft seal

I got the primary gear shimmed to spec and set up a flywheel clutch combo ready to go on. It is when doing these jobs that the mini-in-a-box nut and bolt set comes in handy. All new fasteners throughout.

As soon as I pick up a crank seal that donk is going in the hole.

I drove it.

Doesn't seem like much, but after 2 years of having it in the garage it's such a nice feeling.

I'll have to figure out why the handbrake isn't strong enough though.

Ground off the remaining welds and made patches for some small spots...without and wire so I need to buy a new coil to weld them on, stripped down one of my rear brake assemblies and sheared a bolt and bleed nipple in the process. Need to replace almost everything on it anyway so it's not so bad. Gonna soak the other one in degreaser, see if that makes a difference.

Gave the mini a wipe over and a bit of wax yesterday, even got my 5 year old to lend a hand, then we went for a cruise and stopped for a coffee and cake, happy days.
