Took the battery out of my other mini and put in the 850 project. Tried to test the wiring but the battery has shat itself. Attached a charger to test circuits and indicators were the only thing I could get to work. Then I washed the car and the boot got water in it. Every time I try to work on the car something breaks or doesn't fit.

If you'd dropped by my place today at 5pm you could have bought the lot for 10 gorillas. I really had the sh1ts.

I did drop round at 4:45, all I saw was spanners and stuff flying out the shed, thought it wasn't safe so I left.

Changed the oil in my rover and adjusted the rear drums, changed the oil in my matic, bled and adjusted all the brakes and then took it for a spin until I got too hot. And bribed my 2 young nephews into washing one of the minis with Lemonade and lollies. Once suitably on their sugar highs, sent them home to their mothers :)

Spent some time trying to work out why the speedo has stopped working despite new cable and drive being fitted only 2 drives ago!!! Jacked up the car and ran it in gear to see if cable was turning and alas nothing. Turns out inner cable has snapped somewhere near the gear box !!! Looks like I'll be on the phone tomorrow to see if I can get it replaced.

Went to the sydney super swap and picked up a mini workshop manual like one in a red folder

But this is in a blue folder and has waggott engineering bmc experimental dept in hand writing with 3 peoples names and phone numbers on the back of the first page which says special tuning , parts list and data tuning sheets pub c/hyl7001 dated dec 68 and sectioned
Morris mini,cooper,morris cooper s,mg midget mk3,mgb,austin healey,austin 1800

And the workshop manual part has added yellow pages for 4934a and has australian production mini tp759a on each yellow page of each section

I think ive seen tp759a on the hand book that has the owners name and rego number you got with a new mini

Cost me $60 but ive never seen one before so didnt mind paying it

Next time i go out to see john smidt ill show him it

Test fitted my new mambas and group 5 abs Motorsport flares.
The flares are the perfect width for the midland wheels 10x6 mambas!
Couldn't have asked for any better.
Not sure if I like how the rear flares sit. They are meant to stop at the bumper seam line. Which it does so in the pic. Might have to have a fiddle with that!
Now to paint them and fit them up properly.

Only missing the exterior trim and screw caps. Slowly collecting the bits and pieces needed for it.

Hey speedwell why do your rear wheels appear to sit so far back in the arch. Is it just the way the flares are sitting?

I installed a new side mirror
Image
No holes need to be drilled in the door which is nice! I'll trim the bolt down a little to neaten it up inside
