Looks sweet. I'm keen to hear how it goes.

What is your plans with the bonnet Danny?

It fits really well with no bonnet mods.
I can even squeeze a ramflo air filter on it.

going from a 40mm DCOE to a 44 IDF has made a big difference down low. Its got a bit more torque which i was after initially as i can fit a longer manifold.

is it a more cleverly designed carb, or just a better match?

I don't know enough about Carbies to give an answer about the design of the carbs.
The moke ran really well with the 40DCOE, it had get up and go from 2000 rpm to 6000rpm
The IDF gives me more torque and down low if feels like it pulls better.
I will post a picture of the air filter when it arrives tomorrow. It will be a very tight fit if not touching the bonnet.

I haven't seen my Mini since about June, after plans for a paint touch up and fixing the electrical shorts turned into a bare metal respray and complete rewire.

So I looked at this picture and made 'vroom' noises!

Mr Orange, what do all those little push buttons next to the instruments do?

I like the carbon panel.

All that it needs is wings and 4 boeing 747 engines put on the wings

Looks like a plane cockpit

Thanks, that's exactly the look I was after! (I've got a weird sense of humour).

It's a speedhut set, the buttons are for setting the warning lights and for recall of peak values. And to retract the landing gear (or something). The dial is the dimmer.

Happened yesterday... but I think single handedly killed my mini.. Was on way back from Canberra and cruising at about 90km/h, started to smell burning oil then got some engine rattle... died on the side of the road and just would not start again, plenty of water in the head and cylinders :\ . - minimal just a head gasket - most total engine rebuild. It's stuck at a farm near Tarago til I can go pick it up. Poor thing :(

Thanks for all the help from PhillB and XC9000 on ausmini who were with me at the time and helped out as much as they could

Poor fella!

If you can get it towed back to Canberra, it can stay in my yard till we work it out. I think we must have jinxed it with our conversation at the show

Thanks for your offer Mick

I think I'm going to pick it up Wednesday on a trailer and lug it back to the gong. Will probably sit for a long time before I can afford to pay someone to look at it and fix it! Ha, yeah it was probably listening to us talking about it. Spiteful little thing!
