I've just had four new A008 165/70 x 10 fitted to my 5" contessas (wide offset - not LS) on my van. Looks fantastic and handles great, but I'm sure Mr Plod will not be impressed....

I'm running S spacer drums all round and I have the late model black plastic flares. Now I have the entire sidewall and a few mm of tread hanging out of every guard!

I need wider flares. Is there something out there that will cover the slightly wider rubber and fit using the holes from the existing flares or cover them up?

There must be tons of guys running the same wheels, brake widths and tyre size - what flares do you use?

Cheers,

my wife is running 10x6 inch wheels on her mini with yoko A008's. I have just put the cheap inocenti type flares you get from karcraft for $60. This pic shows there inside the gaurds nicely, with spacered drums alround.

The innocenti (or late Mini) type flares is what I already have.

The Contessas I have must have a more positive offset or deeper dish than your wife's wheels. :(

Brett,
I'm running Yoko A008s on your wheels with Inno flares, they are legal up here. No worse than a Mk1 S with 4.5 steels & no flares..
 Lower it a bit- then the tops of the fronts will kick in...

Mr Plod won't care Brett, count the number of cars like that at the next vic mini run... they all do it - they do get upset when you drive around with no flares at all through, even if you only took them off to paint them the night before

I am with you Bnicho, same prob, sidewall and few mills of tread. I have little problem when tooling around town, but I will have to take it over the RTA pits (not just local garage) coz of the conversion and I know they're going to give me grief...

Yeah, I like that idea. I'd rather spend $$ on adjustable bottom arms and trailing arm brackets than a set of flares.
