Very nice Tricky. Good to see you are practicing up on you'd painting skills. Keep up the good work. It will really start to feel like a workshop once the hoist goes up.

It's looking awesome mate.

You will have to be careful not to spray grinding sparks all over those nice new walls.

More like a new car showroom, which I'm sure is part of the point.

Maybe I'll drive the 1100 up when it's done so you can respray it for me.

Its a date!!

Thanks for the kind words everybody, and now for the revealing......

Its not 100% perfect, there are a few runs, some bleedthrough under the tape in places, and a few blemishes here and there, but all-in-all, not bad at all. What do you all think of the new Martini Garage??

Does this mean all I can work on is Porsche's and Lancia's???

Now to finish off the electrical on those walls, and get ready to put the dividing walls in!!

Cheers,
Tricky

When you know the size of your spray booth Tricky let me know, we're actually doing some duct work for a spray booth at the moment. So ill ask the guy what he suggests??

Reminds me of a professional racing garage, it looks so good. Your idea to not run the mdf to the floor is great

I did a similar thing in my shed, (the lining not the flash paintwork)

I used 12mm ply with battens fixed to the purlins, I used ply so I could screw
brackets, shelves etc to it and I used the battens to stop the panels warping,
hopefully you wont have these problems or is mine over engineered?

Looks brilliant by the way :D

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the very kind words - very encouraging to hear the praise!!

Goodie - Mate, drp around anytime, would love to show you around.

braad - yes, thats the look I'm going for, hopefully I can pull it off.

Moemoke - yep, ply would work just as well.

Matt - but I have room for your bed up in the Mezzanine, err, umm, ahh, lets call it the attic! You can only bring a few cars!! I like spiffy!!

Major update tomorrow, forgot to take pics today, ad now its a bit dark! Stay tuned.

Cheers,
Tricky

Update Time!!!

Been working very hard the last four days (since Monday) ticking stuff off the list of things to be done.

This week I decided, now that the stripes are completed, to finish off the elctrical circuits along the walls, and also to install the compressed air reticulation that services the workshop. In all, there are ten nitto outlets in the workshop, three that feed the asembly area, two service the machinery area (to blow swarth off and help keep the machines clean etc), two service the hoist (so two people can work on a vehicle at the same time, from opposite sides), one services the sheet metal fabrication area, one services the bead-blasting cabinet, and one services the retractable hose-reel at the front of the shed.

The electrical is almost finished, except for the runs along the dividing walls which arent in yet. The air, is virtually done, except for the line that feeds the spray booth, for obvious reason.

Without further adue, here are the pics:

Connection point from the compressor to the filter/regulator which feeds the workshop, and the drain point which will have a hose to the outside:

The brackets took the longest time. Here you can just see the spur for the spray booth on the top right hand corner:

Well that's it for now, another big day tomorrow (which is actually today, as the air lines were finshed yesterday). Will post more tomorrow.

Cheers,
Tricky
