Has anyone used these alloy hubs or similar?

Thinking about this for a future project where weight minimisation is priority. Have to get my books out of storage to see if the metallurgy is right for the application. Won't necessarily use these exact ones because suspension angles will not be standard.

Those rear hubs are a good weight saving at a decent price.
My front hubs are modified, so I don't think they'd work.

nah, i`ll just be buying those minisport ones, how can you go wrong for the price? & i was fully intending to use them when i first built the thing so i`m a bit behind the eight ball having to fit the new injected motor slowed down the weight saving process,,, but i`m getting there,,, alloy front & rear hubs, alloy 4-pot calipers, alloy super minifin drums at the rear, alloy alloy alloy & maybe some titanium force-racing drive flanges one day too

the buggy was 290kgs with all the wings etc, so with all that lot it should come down in weight a decent tad hey? & Dale will be making me some sooper light wings for it some time soon, after he finishes making my aluminum trailer for it

well,,, after my heart attack i somehow put on about 10kgs, so now i`ve got most of that back off ... so yes, i`m trying to get a fair bit lighter too, maybe another 8 or 10 kgs down is the target

problem is tho, with all the exercise i`m doing i`m putting on more muscle & it`s heavier than the fat i`m loosing

can`t have my cake , nor eat it either

Dont get too worried about that, as the increase in muscle mass will increase your metabolism.

Personally for a safety critical component like these I would go with the KAD front hubs, and rear hubs from specialist components.

I have no doubt that KAD hubs would be excellent quality, & i understand your sentiment , my buggy is only 290kgs so far far lighter so way less energy/load is placed upon the hubs than normal mini race usage

however, i`m yet to see or hear of a problem with the alloy hubs from any of the suppliers

have you got or have heard of some horror stories???

i recently saw a car that had these very hubs on and at the track there was some flex in something we dont know if it was from the upright or wrom within the wheel ... but it was enough for the bottom of the wheel to have a bad score mark in it from the bottom ball joint ..

another interesting thing is that these are nearly a direct copy of the first version that KAD made ( that KAD also pulled because they werent happy )

for the few hundred grams difference i would stick with the standard ones .. orrrrrrrr if were rich the FORCE racing titanium ones
