They will suit morris minors just fine.

But if you want TheMiniMan to build you one, why not drop a block off whilst i'm getting busy with tapping and bunging the deck. The 3 i started today must bring it up to 10 twinkies...

hee hee,,, I don`t know what i`d do without you Matty, thanks heaps man !!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

& yes i think you`re right, last count was 10x Twinkys being done here now so i spose i should change the title of this thread :-)

& yes Matt is right, we`ve already sold conversion kits to both Morris minor people & Spridget people, all still being built as we speak/type

there is a pic of a lovely goldy coloured one here somewhere with turbo charged injected 16v twin cam donk fitted, (in Sydney) & there are others

more pics to come as we get more work done on them all, it`s going crazy around here
with mega twin-cam madness :-)

well,,, it`s pretty-well double what the std-ish 5-port head gives you

now, don`t go miss-quoting me with the wrong package here,,, it`s not to say that a "decent" 5-port or 7-port etc can`t keep up with a Twinky,,, but you`d have to add some "Serious" cams & valves & inlet/exhaust systems & compression etc etc etc to the 5/7-porters to come anywhere near a Twinky...

But (funny enough) a Twinky will still be smoother & still have a far more user friendly power delivery characteristic/drive-abilty than a cam-ed up 5/7-porter

did you get that???

& ,,, if you turbo-inject a Twinky then the sky really is the limit :-)
& still be SMOOOOOOTH as silk :-) this is the part that sets a Twinky way ahead of the rest,,, it`s not just the wonderful "Amount" of power,,, it`s also the way it`s delivered

Meh.. I'm over twincams- my 25 year Italian love affair is over.
They are just needless complication.
Give me the simplicity of a screamin' pushrod A series- a 5 port is fine, but go 7 or 8 port if you must! :P

hee hee,,, well kev,,, we may just have to make a trip down your way with a Twinky one day,,, Maybe on the way to hay or something like that, give you a spin in one & see what you think yeah?

it may be a long while away but i`d rather you drive one of mine (maybe my Monaco) that way you get to drive one with all the fruit :-) & besides, it`s only bucket-loads of time & money to make one,,, what else would you do with your time???, go surfing at Byron??? or race a lightweight motorbike powered hillclimb special ??? or blabber crap to mini customers all day??? lucky they`re only mini customers hey?,,, the big ones are a bit tougher to work with :-)

Looking good, Matt!

Reminds me, I should probably book my van in for a 1275. How is December looking?

Maybe 2015?

hee hee, nah , it`d be a lot earlier than that, we have both Mattys here helping me,
(Matty Kosh & Matty Archer) & we`re charging ahead with the work load

without those 2 guys i`d be stuffed tho

That`d make it the 3 Matts-keteers :-)

we can do a 1275 transplant for you in a few weeks time , no problemo

I'll start sending around e-mails to source an engine, some time in the second half in the year, will be in touch!

Good to see the twincams turning out nicely, though not so good for my wallet!

hee hee, yeah well, ok, i can give a pretty accurate ball-park figure now

between $8K & $40K, depending on your wish-list & intended performance level

:-)

I have gone thru what would be required to replace as a minimum to build a Twin Kam, you would have to be able to build the gear box and engine your self and do all of the conversion work as well

I have presumed you had a 1275 engine and box in the first instance which is in good low mileage working condition.

I have used the prices from the Specialist Components site as it was easy to access and the other parts from MInisport OZ site again as it was easy to access. (that is the only reason)

The list i have accumulated is as follows

Baulk Rings (4)
Double row bearing
1st motion Shaft bearing
layshft bearing (2)
central oil pick up
rod change gasket set
Anti leak kit gearbox
Mini cross pin Diff
Diff bearings set
Centre main strap
1275 94" piston set
Thrust Washers
main bearings 20"
big end bearings 20"
camshaft bearings
Oil pump
Arp conrod bolts
A+ Rods (not included)
A+Block (not included)
A+ Crank (not included)
Mini Cam (not included)
A+ gear box (not included)
water pump
alloy radiator
lighten flywheel (not included)
lighten back plate (not included)
competition clutch plate
competition pressure plate
head bolts (10)
head nuts (10)
K1100 head / INJ
K1100 convesrion kit (SC)
twin Kam ancillary pack (SC)
twin Kam coil pack/leads (SC)
twin Kam engine management (SC)
twin cam exhaust manifold (SC)
BMW head gasket (SC)
Block machining
Crank grinding
exhaust
freight from UK
Total $6874.29 (AUD) parts only

There is no labor included at all and the engine is not even in the car yet

What have I missed
