Have taken out the two plugs either end of the block and notice there is another small one below the oil relief. Does this one normally come out as well?

I managed to get some new gallery plugs from Minispares UK bit I have nothing like the smaller one.

Plan was to flush the block with a kero gun and water blaster - clean the oil lines from the gallery with pipe cleaners?

NO, LEAVE THAT LITTLE ONE ALONE!!!
If it gets knocked back in too far (or pushed in during drilling) it can block the relief valve drain port.

re the oil gallery plugs- I think the later cupped type are a POS now, I have seen them go in loose and not seal. So, I make solid brass ones as per originals.

I degrease the galleries, run a pipe cleaner (or a couple of earplugs on a wire) through, then water blaster and airgun.

I thread the hole and screw in an Allen head plug with loctite
Obviously need to do a super duper clean out afterwards but then you can remove the plugs easily next time

My 1360 block leaked at the front, even with a new solid brass plug that shaved itself on the way in (as they are designed to do).
Problem was, the recess was oversize dia further in, where the plug sat.
No worries- I tapped a blind hole in it, pulled it out, made an alloy one and peened it out when fitted. Did this in the car.. no leaky. 8)
