What does that include from jaustech? I am very interested especially if i can fit in a roundnose by moving the turbo which isnt a big mod. Does anyone else know much about this? Where would you put the radiator? Do you think the top mounted intercooler would fit under a roundie bonnet?

Minster I would dare say that if the TMIC can fit under the clubman bonnet it will fit under the roundnose bonnet, with a little modification to the mounts. As for the radiator this could me mounted at the front it depends on what you do with the turbo. As I intend to mount my on the right at the front but if you start having an exhaust manifold and turbo they would be going right through this area.

Also Whitestripe I think with Brad's subframe and mine you would have to shave the bottom of you engine bay walls to get it in...

I had a look at the 4EFTE yesterday and it looks huge im not sure if it would fit in a roundnose. I cant see much of a gain by moving the turbo from its current position to over the gearbox. It looked to me as though the turbo lines up with the gearbox as far as width goes. Can anyone doing/done a 4EFTE conversion advise me on their thoughts?

Minstar would it be possible to keep the airconditioning in your conversion you mentioned on your web page that you are no longer going to put the alternator in its place?

Minster, umm I don't think the air con is a goer (IMHO) at least not in the form presented in the starlet. The whole system takes up a lot of space, which you have in the Starlet but definitely don't have in the Mini. For instance the compressor for the aircon sits just above the oil filter. Given that you have to remove the alternator from the back, if you leave the compressor for the air con where it is where do you put the alternator. Also it isn't just the engine side that is the problem, the air conditioning system in the cabin is huge and will mean that you and probably your passenger will have to adopt the fetal position while driving  :D . Then there is the air con radiator, where do you put that, especially if you want to keep a FMIC.

Then there is the...

Also trust me in a roundnose you would have to relocate the turbo to somewhere else unless you extend the frount! Or you get a clubby.

hey minster... just get yourself a cheap clubby and hack THAT up. Nobody will care if you make a mess of it, afterall it IS just a clubby. You can always try to graft a round front on afterwards. 8)

Unfortunately, all that fits in a mini is the bare bone essentials.... the luxuries will have to disappear. Its crammed enough having GENUINE mini air con in the cabin....

Matt....Have you done any vertical measurements of your engine on its subframe :?: That could be really interesting to see and to use as a template...(did I say template :?:  ).

But seriously, a few simple measurements relative to the subframe mounts and that will tell show the side-on height profile
