I had to do "the" ricer -

WRX - 168kw 1395kg = 0.073
WRX STi - 195kw 1475kg = 0.080

Not that impressive really.

Based on all these calculations the cheapest way to increase the preformance of your mini is to go on a diet :D

Newtons first law:

A body at rest will want to remain at rest. Moving from rest is called the moment of inertia and and the vehicles ability to move from rest is determined by the amount of motive power it has versus the level of gravitational pull that is exerted on that object. But a train weighing 5000kg with 50,000hp will move off alot quicker than one with 5000hp, as this changes the fundamental relationship between force (the motor) and gravity/inertia.

yeh it goes alright for a 100% standard motor from toyota in 1993, with a $200 turbo hanging of it :D

Deans (baracade) mini will be a beast compared to mine, same motor as mine running 350hp and a 700kg mini

yeah, well....a 500Hp turbo alloy V8 in my 600kg mini still isn`t going to beat many cars in a drag

power to weight ratios don`t work to well when there`s no traction to grab the black stuff ey???

still spinning wheels half an hour later no matter what gear you`re in :-)

maybe that train will beat it :-)

ah well,,,might as well up the boost some more & buy some more tyres then :-)

For a drag car I'd ditch the rear seat and hang it in there instead..
It's amazing how easily a front subframe can be bolted into the rear of a Mini.. we once did it in a couple of weekends.. 8)

Hmmm interesting.

Est. max mass: 750kg = 1650 lbs
Therefore 140 (estimated) hp = 0.85
Oh and 70hp nitrous (for off road use) = 0.127

That's the whole point, useable power+minimum weight :)

But yes, adding a 94kg lump won't help  working on lightening the "spare tyre"

My brothers' 850 sports sedan weighs in at 480kgs WITH the mini engine. Should be fun when/if we get the Suzuki Gti motor in there...
