Yep, i'm having stupid thoughts again.

Was looking at my electronic dizzy and thought to myself...... geez, not much room between that and the grille.

Was thinking also..... how can I get this supercharger setup to be fuel efficient?

Thats when I thought...... programmable ignition.
-No dizzy (gives me more room for the oil cooler)
-multiple programmable advance curves. Power, economy, etc
-coil pack, 4 igniters (blow the spark plugs to bits..... mmmmm cool)

With selectable advance curves, I would be able to keep the clutch on the supercharger, which would then allow me to have: vacuum activated boost OR switch activated boost OR full time boost OR no boost at all........

Running without boost means less fuel required. My last car doubled it fuel efficiency with the boost switched off, and it was still driveable. Slow, but driveable.

Hmmm... expensive??? You bet....... Its got massive wank appeal. I like it.

Any thoughts?

Anyone selling a Wolf3D or MoTeC????

Oh..... and i might mention, these computers control fuel injection too.

If you are handy with a soldering iron or know someone who is, why not make your own computer?

My bro runs an Autronic. We have heard that the original Motec engineer decided he di not like the way motec were doing things, so left to start up Autronic. Don't know how true it is, but the Autronic computer is really good.

okies I have been reading all up in regards to EMS's at the moment...

Hell yeah Motec is the ants pants but why would you nuke a mouse hole?

Haltech will do everything you need for less then half Motec costs.

Micro tech half again...

its all just wank factor unless you are running some serious power output.

Personally, I've been looking long and hard at the Wolf 3D ....

Cooper "S" Manifold, 2 x 1.5" throttle-bodies, 2 Trumpets in a sealed box, 2 injetors just behind the trumpets (wet manifold injection), MAP sensor, Hyundai Coil pack ingition (probably waste-spark) and some nice closed-loop o2 cruise-condition running.....

Mmmmmm power AND flexibility....

Not many $$$ either, a few Wolf version 3's hitting the market now that the plug-in version 4 is out.....

Later

Megasquirt. Cheap, customisible, plenty of them have been done. You just have to be handy with a soldering iron and take the trouble to learn.

Ah, but see.... my preference is for programmable IGNITION for the supercharger. Fuel injection is not really important at this stage.

I have not yet looked into Microtech computers.... but I was aware of all the Wolf3D's that are now becoming old technology, and therefore affordable.

Lets just say I am getting some serious thoughts happening now.

Great, just what I need, MORE toys.....

SC850, I have a LINK for the Gti conversion, been doing alot of reading about it. I have a user manual for it if you want a read. Just PM your email. Also got the PC tunning equipment and a few base programmes.

I've not heard good things (not bad things) about the microtech. Something to do with the limited number of cycles or something like that. Thing is with any computer you want flexibility, you would hate to buy one then develop beyond the computers potential.

Ask Matty Read about the Wolf 3d, I think he is running it in his Targa Car. Something about adjustable settings. One mode for normal driving and one for going stupid. But i imagine most A/M ECU's would be capable of this.

The Wolf3Ds have a great "plug in" module system from memory...so you can have as many tunings as you want !
