I would have thought the wave pulses from the 'charger would have played hell with the suction chamber on an SU .... would need some heavy dampening, wouldnt it ?

I remember a mates Blown BB Chev (LJ Torana... BEAST!)
Had a Pair of 600 Holleys on top of a 6/71 Moodyham Blower - put you hand above and at idle you could feel the pulse waves about 6" above the carbs !

that was a wild beast though......about 8.7s quarter miles........ STREET CAR....

God i love Forced induction :P

my builder was saying that an SU probably cant cope as well as a weber under high levels of boost

this is simply because the boost blows the piston into the side of the carby and doesnt allow it to move well or at all....

had any probs with yours kazjim?

No Mixture problems here... checked on the dyno and over 3000 RPM its rock solid ! - no slide binding... Probably only an issue with earlier SU's - mine has a ball-bearing slide system (all HIF carbs do... the HS type are all plain bearing... maybe a problem)

The cam that'll be in it is a Kent MD 290 Scatter Pattern, if that makes any difference.

Oh and Jill, I could do 1000 business cards (full colour laminate) for $99 but I can't be stuffed doing them for so little. LOL!

Hey a bit OT here... but I didn't think it desvered a new topic.. Just quickly a 997 engine that has been stroked to 1100.. how much boost could you put through this with a turbocharger? is there much meat between the cylinders in this kind of overbore? Or is forced induct right out of the question?

Thanks guys
