First qu I would pose is the whether it would get passed by an engineer to be on-road legal. The extra-wide track would be the biggest issue (well - in WA where you can only have an extra 25mm more than standard Mini track width).

Ball-tearer of a setup though :D :D

here in Queensland the max engine capacity for a mini is 2L NA and 1.6 turbo, so engineers won't pass a 2L turbo.

i think it would be fairly similar in other states.

BUT

you could always build a beast of a track / hillclimb car

Track is always a problem.

As far as I'm aware (unless it's changed recently and I haven't heard) in SA there is no max engine size or max power or torque for any car. But it must be deemed safe by the engineer whose company is taking the risk on certifying it and it must be road legal within the local rules (which might stop you for the track). As with everything though, where there's a will there's a way.

Tip: Move to SA (or if you're really keen I'm sure it's all good in NT) and build a 2L turbo Mini.

There are alloy block diesels out there now. Overhead cams too.

There must be at least one turbo diesel motor out there thats not too much of a pain to fit, the first one that comes to mind is the Fiat Uno 1.4 ltr turbo diesel , lots of aftermarket parts available

obviously the Clubman / Leyland Mini engine bay would be a better fit
.

Wash your mouth Tricky! (Or hands since you typed it?)

I've driven a Kubota, they accelerate at about the same pace in all the gears except if you start in top it has a slightly higher top speed than starting in 2nd. :)
