Well thanks Grant I do have my 13's x 5's at the moment.

I thinking that I could get the engineer to approve them at the same time he does the rest of the car for the conversion.

dean your wheels are fine if you want to keep that look,,, the sime tyres will just fit, but nothing bigger will. if you wanted 195 tyres then id say 6 or 7 inch wide performance wheels are the go.

Doc the track refers to the wheel centre track that can vary by up to one inch. If you add one inch inside and one inch outside then your track has not altered at all. You can add 1 inch inside and then add 2 outside and effectively move your track out by half an inch for ea wheel ie combined is 1 inch over track. and the physical limit on a mini is 8 inches wide to remain legal. Many RTA places have NO idea. I have a set of 13x7s that I am importing Yoki AO48R's for from the UK (again supply here sucks) I was going to run a set of 13x9's and stretch a set of 185's on them for show purposes, but decided to have them narrowed to 13x7.5 and run Yokis as well. About the limit for the 175 tyre.

I have a set of 13 x 7 performance.. With 175/50 yokos on it and the 7" wide rim is about the biggest rim the 175 tyre will fit. And the wheel sticks out further thatn the rubber, so no getting to close to any gutters.. Also they hit the front guard when almost on full lock, so cutting will be required for them to clear the guards on full lock. The wheels do look sweet though

i konw is nsw u are legally allowed to go as WIDE as u want (aslong as u have guards or flares to cover them!)

but only leggaly allowed to increase wheel size by 2 inches (so 13's are illegal unless engineered!)
12's are legal,

that's what i have been told by numorus tyre place around syd,

(i will have my 13's engineered along with honda or camira brakes at the same time!)

cheers

blake

I just rang up a guy who I will look into doing the Camira brakes for me. I'm going down Tuesday i'll let everyone know the prices.

Hmmm will put my hotwire wheels up for sale in the next week or so...

Just keep a eye out for them.

Smiles

The wheels do stick out almost 4 inches from the guards, with no flair or anythin on them. And to get them legally registered they have to be covered by some sort of guard. Some 4x4's use checker plate to cover their wheels? And i also have the camira brakes under the 13's and they fit sweet, dont think the camira brakes will fit straight under 12's, without taking some off the calliper.
So to fit 13's you will need a flair of some sort that is about 4 inches wide...

Depends on your flare size. ie Contessa mags for a Mk 2 S have 95mm internal offset and are 5 inches wide. If you retain this internal offset and add 2 inches ie 7's then will fit well with Sportpack arches. (ie rim is flush with edge of flare. You can increase your internal offset to as much as 105mm after this it scrapes on rear suspension, if you wat to go to say 8's. But these will still push past the Sportpack flares or similar about 1/2 inch. Should be able to work out how much you want yours to have outside the bodywork from that.

if all yoyur offset is outside they wont rub.. but your car will handle like a tractor.. and will no longer be nimble like a mini with steam rollers like that on the front
