hi all, the paint on my 1974 DeLuxe has seen better days ( and i am in the process of completing it) and i really want a respray... does anyone know how much one costs? and what colour should i get (i was thinkin matt graphite??) any ideas would be a start...

I looked into this stuff for myself not too long ago.
Outside only would be $2000
and new colour in and out would be $3000.
It would be more for baremetal respray or rust/damage repair.
$5000 should see you through, but the saying goes
"You get whhat you pay for"

how come you dont do it yourself... by the look of your avitar your a natural.. it does limit colour choice a bit though...

Throw caution to the wind, check out the range of House of Kolor paints. Usually used for hot rods etc but there are absolutely wicked candies on there. Paint doesnt come cheap though at around 600-700 per litre. The next one I will do for the missus will be the candy purple/pink. Absolutely awesome colour in sunlight.

If you're looking at a resto, i would recomment keeping the original colour. unless of course, the original is a POS... :shock:

I wanted to respray my car in a candy apple blue but i cant refuse the low cost of a nice acrylic finish.

Not a panno or a painter, Just ask how to do it and get into it. If It isnt perfect do it again and again until it is right, just dont be in a hurry. G.
