Call Vigyl - they should be in the directory. They specialise in modified vehicles and are pretty cheap.

If you are a mini club member they may give you a better deal as they consider you to be a car enthusiast.

You could try Matt at Shannons on 85 86 87 14.

Otherwise Vigil try Peter Tangey (number in the white pages).

Also dont forget to ask about excess especialy if your car is insured at the low thousands. No point getting insurance with AMMI for 4 grand with $700 premium, 600 normal excess and 700 under 25 excess (I think I'm exagerating but you get the point).

Be careful with AAMI. They cancelled my son's insurance instantly on his stock `76 Clubbie 998 (while he was driving) just because it had a `sports muffler'!!! (no other mods)

My van is insured with Shannons, fully comp, modified classification for $5000 agreed value. Premium on 65% no claim bonus, 29 years old, club member is just $250 a year! Some companies quoted me more than that for third party alone.

You can basically do whatever mods you like - they don't need them all listed (unless you turbo it or something drastic). No silliness if you fit twin carbs, 1275's, different seats etc either!

I had to make a claim last year when some cretins decided to play trampoline on the van's roof :x But at least it gave me the opportunity to have it painted white during repairs. 8)

Shannons service was great - one quote, trip to assessors and it was all approved.

My only gripe is I have now dropped to rating three - 45% no claim so my renewal this year is approx $350. One more year claim free with Shannons and I would have had lifetime 65% :(

I'm with Vigil for 8 years now but the deal is not that good. Next year I'll try Shannons.
