Well, the thoughts have run as far as a full downdraught spray booth!!

But, on the shopping list is an English wheel, planishing hammer, shrinker/stretcher and that's just a start!

If you havent already gathered, I really want to get into custom panel work and paint - specialising in Mini's of course!! :D

You can build a small english wheel easy enough. I think I have several sets of plans for them. The english wheel was one of my 'if I had a lathe I could make this' jobs. Now I have a lathe, but I haven't made anything with it yet.

Good luck with the custom panel work stuff. When you get good enough you can run courses for us all.

And when I win tatts I'll be opening my own shop here...

Hey Cam,

Yes mate, please come around I have some more welding to do and I could sure use your help.

The date for El Gato to get his furcoat is still floating a bit as Steve is still a bit behind schedule with his other jobs - I have waited two years I can certainly wait a few more weeks!

Yes, I cant wait either - its gonna be great!!!!

Cheers,
Tricky

Any hints on body colours? Or do we have to stalk spray shops until we find it?

Good on you Dan,

Short update - almost finished the boot off today. Cam came around and welded the filler necks on my water tanks yesterday so I could mount them today. Its nearly finished in the boot - just need to make a small flat panel to mount the surge tank and fuel pump on which is almost done, and then its complete.

Windscreen washer on the left, FMIC water spray on the right.

Pics from today:

MM_Alis, I'm pretty sure the battery is going in one of the rear side pockets because it's a fancy battery that you can mount on it's side.

Looks fantastic tricky and well done Cam - that is some nice welding work.

Hi Hallsey,

How is everything going down there? Thanks for the kind words. Its all starting to come along now and I have gotten back some motivation now that it is so close to being painted! How is 'The Red Sled' coming along?

Hi Alistair,
What do you mean by upskirt, happy to take the pics, if I know what I'm taking them of. And yes, the battery is an Optima gel cell. And like Nick said, they are going in the side pockets in the rear of the cabin. There will be two, one for starting the car and one for the ICE.

Thanks Nick - yes, Cam can do some top shelf work all right - BTW, his services are for hire!

Cheers,
Tricky
