I was talking to a guy at the RTA who pointed out that a petrol engine not directly connected to the driving wheel doesnty have meet pollution laws.

So a bike engine connected to a generator driving electric motors would be legal. No batteries just live generation to the motors - no gearbox. I estimate the loss at the wheel would be 25 percent greater than a petrol/gearbox comono.

Anyone want to build one.

There's no need. You can register a bike powered car in NSW.

Does the same rule apply to jet engines?

Absurdly, that would probably be illegal on the road here for the crashworthiness rather than the fact that someone crammed a jet engine into a New Beetle

I'd like to see this with the hatch closed. Would you have hang a red flag
on the overhang?

and instead of throwing all the rubbish out the window, just feed it into the high temp incinerator.
one of those would be good set-up in a hearse. cremation on the way to the funeral :D saves time
