Yep, quite noisy....

nope, its not EFI, its for High-performance Carbed engines (Think Big-Block Chev engines. . . )

I use it for its pressure abilities not flow.... it needs to be able to produce about 20Psi fuel pressure to sustain 16Psi boost..... (4 Psi above boost at all times....)

Ok... the questions start....

My Internals.....(blood, goo, intes..... oh.. the ENGINE.. ok...)

998cc Block 0.020" over
Low-Comp cast pistons (Van Casting i believe.. made by AE ?)
Nitrided (Or is that Tuftrided... cant remember) EN16T Crank (998)
GR RE-13 "Customised" cam (not a standard RE13 as far as i know... more exhaust duration? less overlap ? ask DRMINI.... !
12G202 head - Smoothed - NOT ported.. DRMINI will be doing a "special" head for me soon.....(another 202)
Cooper "S" Valvesprings and STANDARD PRESSED ROCKERS....

The HIF-6 is the SAME size as the 44 but it has different drillings on the face and the float-bowl to pressurise the fuel under boost - requires a 1/8 restrictor ring at the face of the carb (included on the Metro plenum)
The also have "O" rings on EVERYTHING (including the suction chamber
and bit where you put the oil.... bugger, cant remember anything today...)
Seals on the throttle shafts and choke....

They are NOT interchangable AT ALL

BURLEN in the UK have them NEW but they are about 300 POUND !!
I picked mine up from a guy in the states for $65USD "rebuilt" (My arse, it was leaking like a sieve.. just painted pretty.. in NON FUEL PROOF PAINT!!) - Not mentioning any names.. Old School MM people know who i mean...... (Cough *FAFFSPEED* Cough)

Same carb as used on the MG Metro Group A Cars... good for well over 300HP in Blown form aparantly ! (good for 73@ wheels for me !)

it has been the source of the LEAST amount of hassles with my setup... a sticky choke at the start, but that has been well and truely fixed....

Later

Ooops missed that bit....

Its a IHI RHB-4 (V trim..)
I'm currently in the market for a water-cooled IHI RHB-5 to replace it with....

Head's not ported because i ran out of budget at the time...
It flows pretty good though.... giving it to DRMINI soon to work his magic... nothing wild, just a little critical tweaking......

Nope, being a small bore, small stroke engine, gas velocity is paramount and a big-valver would just ruin all that hard work....

I thought about a 940, but i think i can get as much if not more out of a 202...

It is a streeter after all !!, I'm not flying it to the moon !!
Max output was never the aim, it was midrange usable torque as well as torque UNDER the curve that was most important.....

No Room... I've got an S5 RX-7 top mount thats been boxed as a water / air cooler but there is just NOT enough room (even in the wheel arch....)
So at the moment looking into water / methanol inj as a stop-gap....

COuld probably fit a PWR barrel cooler under the bonnet, but too many $$$$$

Seen how thick those buggers are ?

Nahh, trying to keep it as Stock looking as possible....
If someone wants to make me an intercooler in the shape of an 850 Grille, then yea, I'll do that !

in the meantime.. its water / methanol injection time......
