I find it interesting that most overseas race Minis run a big journal crank (and often A+ rods) whereas here we tend to use small journal ones and (usually) S rods..

Very, very, very nicely done...but I am struggling to see how it differs much from a well prepped Aussie :?

Oh hang on...the steering wheel is on the other side

If we are talking about the same Neil, I haven't seen his car I've just heard about it. I've talked to Neil a time or two. I know is son a little bit so I have even been to his house a couple times to check out some Mini bits. I'll try and find out if it is the same Mini.
It's funny how small the world has become with the interweb.

Thanks for the compliments on my work. I will keep at it, there is a lot more to do.

Yes the internet has made the world a smaller place. Dennis & Lorraine visited Oz in 2003, spent some time in Cairns and we caught up, was my pleasure to show them some of the local sights. Kept in touch since, was talking with him yesterday by phone.

Dennis has contacted me by email in the last hour or so. I think I will phone him in the next couple days and check out the VTEC Mini he is working on for a friend. I've also heard about this car and only seen pictures of it. Should be fun, this makes 4 VTEC Mini builds I know if in town including my own.

I don't know of any jobs in your field, I'm too busy with Minis! But come on over to Canada I'm sure you can find something D1ck0.

great looking car... various pictures of it in the photos from a canadian historic event posted last night by Speedy

http://www.flickr.com/photos/vintage_racer/sets/72157606899204839/

the Canadian definition of historic looks to be a bit different to ours, an Nb or Nc car wouldn't be allowed to have a removeable front etc. like that would it?

The owner of that car is one of the guys I went to SEMA with last month. Every time I stop by and see that car it makes me want to get back to working on my Mini.
