someone was suggesting that you`re not limited to engine choice,,,well,,, the truth is that "IF" you`re after a front engine/front wheel drive mini using a motorbike engine then the Yammy R! is about the only one the fits (with any room & without making a whole pipe of poo-poo fabing up stuff to make room for it)

The R1 bike power unit has it`s gearbox "up-ended" for want of a better decription, the gear box shafts are ontop of each other instead ofone behind the other as in conventional bike engines,,, so therfor the R1 is basically the shortest bike motor you can get in the 1000cc or bigger capacity.

My little R1 powered hill climb special was meant to be the test bed for an R1 powered mini but i`m so happy with it the way it is that i`m not going to bother adding all that weight that a road mini body will create

Could probably fit two of them in side by side for a harley V4.
Might need to cut some very big holes for air cooling and would need some hefty chain...

I always thought that a conversion was done to improve and advance the car not to lumber it with a dud engine

Someone was doing a 800 honda V4 into the front of a mini.
I think it was on here ages ago...
