This is really aimed at Dr Mini: Tell me again why forged rockers are preferable over roller rockers? is it performance? wear? price??

Of course we are talking 1.5:1 rockers but I just want to know why people seem to prefer forged rockers over roller rockers, esp when A+ has roller rockers as standard?? I am confused...

really an A+ has roller rockers as standard? I thought they had those rockers like the last of the Aussie Minis had.

Kev says something about pros and cons of forged/ roller rockers in the second page of:
http://www.tziworld.com/ausmini/viewtopic.php?t=3829&highlight=highlift+rockers

Rupert is right. A+ never had rollers, it runs the `crap sintered ones' (my opinion and G Russell's too).
1.5:1 MiniSpares forged rockers are pretty well made. I've done nearly 40,000 miles on a set and they are still in good nick, and the bronze guides too...
OTOH, I have seen MiniSport rollers stuff up in 10,000km on Gareth_1330's motor. Rollers got flats worn on them. So they wouldn't roll. :x
And they had slack bushes in them from new.

I think the commonly available roller rockers are Bling! you can't see, unless you have a see-thru rocker cover...

If you are going racing, sure- buy GOOD rollers- Titans or whatever- but the pretty ones are crap, IMO.
See http://www.minimania.com/web/DisplayID/ ... ticleV.cfm
for lots of info to cut through the BS...

Dear Doc...in yer other post you made mention of the Yella Terra roller rockers...How do they stack up in comparison to the corolla conversion etc?

I'm not so much worried about the cost...Just the wear 'n tear aspect etc...Fraid i don't have the tools let alone anywhere i can do stuff like unless it's in my lounge room :D

Duc. I'll PM you once i get cost's on these yella terra roller rockers if ya like?? Coz there's a few places in Sydney u can get them: http://www.yellaterra.com.au/stockists. ... &state=NSW

No first hand knowledge. I think they are 1.5:1, and were over $600 last time I looked.

The Corollas measured 1.46:1 with my RE-13 cam, but they take some work to do properly. If I were to make a bunch for sale they would be around $300/set, with new thick wall rocker shaft and steel posts.
I've not run them yet, but they are on Barney's 1293, waiting to drop in the car.
Ozmotorsport had a set on his 1380 race Clubbie (ex John Wakefield). I think someone in Qld did them.

Kev..If you do go "into production" I'll certainly be in the hunt for a set of them. Even throw in a case of beer on top to seal the deal

I see this clarifies certain things up. I will read more into it but sounds like the Mini Spares 1.5:1 forged sounds like the way to go.

One thing worth noting Duc (68Matic) is different from me (Chong AKA 68Delux) That was for the record your honour!

Another distinguishing feature: Duc has a white matic and Chong has a red deluxe
