My hoses have the AS stamp on them and were made in Canberra about two years ago!

I have braided brake hoses on mutant that came from UK - supposedly not legal as they have no AS or whaterver the stamps needs to be.

The ones I spoke about earlier in this subject from Maltech have the stamp on them and are legal! I saw them and have their brochure.

Really? Maybe these Maltec hoses are worth looking into

Here is the info I have on them:
Maltech Ultimate Brake Hoses
Brake & clutch hoses ADR-7 approved - stainless steel braided & rubber
Steven 7 David Malkin - Geelong
0418 378 939
[email protected]
www.maltech.com.au
Brochure mentions the following:
The new standard in performance brake hoses for street vehicles.
Enhance braking performance
Reduce braking distance
Eliminate pedal sponginess
Pressure tested to over 20,000 kpa (300psi)
Compatible with all brake fluids
Abrasion & corrosion resistant
ADR Approved
Safety improvement
Street legal
.... and they look great.

Hope all this helps.

That's what ausmini is all about - sharing information.

Back to your original question re engineers certificates. i quote myself from the JAM rethink thread

http://www.tziworld.com/ausmini/viewtopic.php?t=4636&start=45

Read up on it 68Delux, and you will see that as long as you keep all the specs of other stuff like brakes the same as was available from the factory, you can put in any engine that was an option for the car. and you don't need an engineers certificate

re braided hoses,
one of the problems in UK and US was, people were running braided hose all the way from MC to brakes, to replace all the hard steel brake lines. This gave real spongy brakes as there is much more `give' in hoses than in steel lines when you jump on the pedal.
This migtht be why some of the authorities are paranoid about braided lines.
