Hi all my 68 morris van should be going into the paint shop next week sometime...(hopefuly) and he is beed blasting it, fitting a bodykit and painting it for me but before that all goes on i need to know what has to be cut out of the fire wall to fit a turbo/exhaust manifold ect... Does any one have any pics or any info that tey could share to give me an idea of how much needs to come out before i paint it, once its painted i wont want to put any holes in her anywhere

if you mount the turbo over the clutch housing instead of down the back of the motor, I reckon you'll get several benefits, like it'll be cooler, easier to plumb, easier to intercool, and not have to cut anything...

yeah all engineered, 100% street legal and registered.

when ever you fit a metro turbo setup the xmember has to come out, its a shame but you got to do it.

will try and get a few pix of the inside done and post

far out... I thought it was only a small section of it.... so Gordo, factor in those fabrication and engineering costs - find yourself an engineer and show him boostedmini's pics, tell him you're going to copy the setup that's already engineered etc.

does it have to be that size. i bought a box ages ago and welded it in but its smaller than that in length left to right. its in a clubman

i`ll post some pics of my manifolds and turbo in the car asap... I have the turbo right round the side of the engine, in fact its near the front of the block on the left hand side... Its tight, but does fit and should work well... Also means, people can see the turbo real easy and admire!!!

Best thing of all, is that lack of body work needed to do this! No cutting of xmemebrs or anything, so it might be easier to engineer the turbo setup...
Though doing it the was boosted mini has is legal and good and fine when engineered, this way it just saves welding and cutting...

i would really love to see his setup... I want to run an intercooler, but have been advised it will make it a tonne more laggy, and i want the responsiveness...
then again, i want the power, so i have to start weighing up my options and thinking it out straight and clear....
