The strong impression is that they really only started tuning it yesterday, and while yes the had to take the headers off (I am still a bit dubious), and the put on Profec B (good but not what I asked for)

Out of interest what did you ask for? I am personally deciding between Profec B, Apexi AVCR and the HKS EVC 6 (EVC is winning atm).

It's all good man, it's always tough when the workshop is so far away.

Archangel007, yeah.. been playing g13b's too long.. third turbo setup i've had, so there was a lot of thinking that went in before hand ;) (not to mention the joint efforts of everyone on redlinegti, developing and contributing their failures/success).

Sam, what I meant is that I didn't really ask for the installation of any type of EBC. But they suggested it and it was something I had been thinking about and I wanted some form of boost controller. What I was getting at is that they have done all these things that to me were peripheral to the main objective which was to tune the Adaptronic!

I am just pissed off because I think even with these side issues, they could have done these and tuned it in a week if they really put their minds to it and certainly would have been a doddle over 3 weeks!

Was really looking forward to the Dyno day, and it could be a long time before the next one...

And yes Gordo, you have to tread that fine line between being firm and going so off that they do a sht job because I've pissed them off. As you say Sam one of the issues with being away from the action (300km away).

Cheers

Andy, no real update, rang them this morning and he guaranteed (yes insert laughter here) that it would be ready for pick up on Saturday, I asked him to give me a ring once he knew some figures regarding the dyno and he said he would but nothing as yet!

Hi Sam, rang them yesterday and Paul indicated that they would staying back after work last night to get it sorted.

Just rang Phil at Pulse. 146Kw atw on 16psi! Not quite 200 but a 10Kw improvement on what I was getting on 16psi last time so good effort. There are a few other things I can do that may improve things and I dare say they will have some ideas. Still well happy and it is finished :D :D . Pick up Saturday.

Still they didn't meet my demand of getting more than 148Kw on 12-14 psi like someone else has... :D

Cheers

Matt

Bit I didn't tell you Matt was that you'll be half way down the street while i'm waiting for the turbo to spool. Bit of a dyno queen in that respect

It's not terrible, but not as responsive down low as the T25 I had when I saw you last

Keen to see what you think of the Profec in every day use and if you're happy I may have to invest in one too.

I would happily give away 20kW to have a tune that didn't flood my driveway with 98 octane de-greaser... bummer these guys didn't turn yours around quicker.. i'm still on the lookout for a tuner... (ok.. maybe only 10kW..)

Sam, I would still recommend them I just think I should have been a bit more terse from the start, because I didn't push them they didn't hurry. I think if you were up front with them and said this has to be ready in 2 weeks and I won't take anything less, they would probably do it in that time.

I will get the lowdown regarding the fuel ratio, but I am just looking forward to seeing how it goes. If it goes well and ain't as you say dribbling unburnt petrol out the exhaust (yes not joking) I will be happy. We should meet up in a weekend or two, also Tom Vale wants to have a look too so I will give you a yell.

Cheers

Hi all,

Just got the car back from Sydney. All I can say is friggin awesome. Did not give it too much as I didn't want to get a ticket but the performance is amazing, comes on boost about 500rpm earlier and the engine feels rock solid. A comment Phil at Pulse made was that he took mine out for a blast and he then came back and to a current model WRX Sti out and that considerably slower compared to mine, so I think that is good indicator.

I will scan the sheet tonight and post up. Also the Profec is brilliant. As you will see in the dyno sheet it maintained the 16psi complete stable during the whole run. I'll get a video done at some stage. Yeah sucks about the dyno day but the wait has definitely been worth it. Awesome.

Cheers

Matt
