Just leave it primer grey. Go for the "rat" look.

Looks good Tricky! Can't wait to see it going. I'll have to make my way across the country sometime to see it.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for that.
Horsepower, whatever I can get basically. :D
I would like to think that 200fwhp is not out of the question at 16psi, but would not have the wick wound up that high for normal driving. The good thing about the Greddy Profec E-01 is that I can load two boost curves (street/track, or wet/dry etc) and switch between them instantly. Also it has an overboost function which lasts for 30 sec (user programmable for psi and duration). I will probably do the same as Matt and Josh and leave it at or around 12psi for daily use - no use over-stressing the motor.

The red u-bollts are tie-down and tow points for the back of the car.

12psi is pleeenty for the road and far too much for 1st and second gear. From my experience after a bit of driving, 3rd could take a 'bit' more so i'm probably going to set boost for third gear higher.

Tricky - you mentioned how easy it is to get the motor in/out with the MKIII subframe. I assume that the engine can be removed out of the bonnet and not by having to drop the whole subframe out. What have you changed that makes it so different?

Hi Mearcat,

Yes, the whole engine and gearbox comes out through the top. :D
The redesigned engine mounts and position of them makes the difference as well as how the subframe engages the front bodywork.

Just a quick update.......

Spent a few hours on Sunday in the workshop, trying to get a bit done and little by little it's nearing completion. The brake lines and clutch MC went in were installed and bolted up firmly. The brake line guy is coming to fit-off the ends mid-week so that will be all the hydraulics taken care of.

Lines and Clutch MC installed:

Installed the rear swingarms. I have installed them without the tracking and camber brackets as I didnt want to mark or scratch them seeing as this is just temporary. Installed the Suprfins as well:

And with that came the rear coilovers:

I decided totest fit the wheels while I was there. The fronts look great, but the overhang was a bit more than what I thought. No matter, should pass OK.

The rears were a little bit better in terms of overhang. Cant wait to get the whole thing painted and finally finished because I think it will look uber slick!!

Next week will be the steering, all the flexible fuel lines and fittings, heater hoses, radiator and cold air intake fabrication. Still got a bit to do........

Looking good tricky. It still amazes me how much work you manage to get done on your car!

Tricky, I think you'll have no trouble with the rears, but I'd suggest you wind on a bit of negative camber on the front and tuck the wheel tops in a touch. Might be a tiny bit too much rubber hanging out there...

Gordo,

Its 2-Pak PPG but with a special hardener put in. The hardener gives it some heat resistant capabilities. The hardener is only available in the Delfleet and Deltron range of paints. You have to use the hardener in the undercoat/primer as well as the topcoat. It apparently gives the paint a heat resistance in the order of 400 degrees or so. BadassMini should be able to give s some more details as he uses the stuff every day.

Simon,

Yep, good idea Ol' Sock. Might wind about 1.5 degrees negative on just to be on the safe side. If in doubt, register with JC's 12 x 6's :D
