Yeah dbriik, it does have a self tune capability so at some stage I will fully acquaint myself with the manual and we will see. As for the actual tune, Eddie was pretty helpful and would have kept going until it was done by the way he was working but with the crank angle sensor on the fritz it was best to call it a day. I will get a new sensor/distributor and go back for another go. As you say Tricky not a bad result and I think there is still plenty of room for improvement.

Cheers

M

So I take it that the Jaycar DFA is out the window?

Yeah Mearcat decided to bite the bullet and get serious about the engine management. While E-Manage, DFA would all do the job as far as fuel changes I just thought that an all encompassing unit would be a better approach. One DFA, and hand controller going cheap...

Also the car IS running very well, so just a case of sorting out the power output to get it back to the levels previous obtained.

Cheers

Matt

The thing with ECU's is that everything has to be entered from scratch pretty much as you go, but once done it's worth it and really is set and forget, until you change something.

Are you running stickier tires now matt? and is it the same dyno? dyno dynamics? will be interesting to compare your final figure with the dyno up here.

Although quite expensive when compared to a piggyback job, the tuneability of a standalone can not be beat 8)

Yep, cant beat a standalone unit for flexibility and features.

Although, the e-Manage coupled with the Profec E-01 is a pretty good setup (Austarlet guys have obtained well over 200fwhp with just and e-Manage alone)

Matt - be interesting to compare statistics with both and Josh when its all up and running.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Tricky

The thing is if I can't get the crank sensor issue sorted there will be no dynoing, had a bit of an issue today where the thing kind of missed a few times at high revs and Eddie said I should take it easy (i.e no revving the engine). So unless I can sort out the crank sensor issue I probably won't go. Though I should have it sorted by the end of next week and have it dyno'd by the end of the month.

I still don't quite know where the 35hp went? Maybe the clutch is still slipping?

Cheers

Matt

Well the Mini is with Pulse Racing in Menai and talking to Phil before I left he filled me with a good deal of confidence. They had a supra out the front with a 2JZ producing 520 rwkw. Anyway I am scheduled to pick it up this Saturday so we will see what happens...

Cheers

Matt

Hello All, well rang them on Wednesday, and Phil told me they had taken the exhaust manifold off to get welded because it was cracked. I am not so sure but can't be bothered arguing apart from the fact that a) they may be right and b) maybe it is leaking hence the drop in power. But to cut a long story short the exhaust shop are going to weld it up again(?) and then they can get stuck into the tune. So next Saturday!!! Lucky I am a patient man...I'll keep you all posted (more quickly!).

Cheers

Matt
