There should be a spelling requirement for mods... to preserve the Queen's English as she is spoke.
Let's see- I know Gafmo can't spell, what about the others... so, who's responsible...

I agreee with the comments everyone has made. Drivability is the main thing here.. I dont plan to use 200 hp in many occasions in the street anyway!
I posted that website just to get some feedback. From what everyone is saying, mild steel is the way to go for a aftermarket manifold so I won't be ordering the one from US.. plus they havent got back to me despite numerous emails.

My engineer is on leave at the moment and will only come back after easter.. so I have to wait! :x

Cheers

Yeah totally agreed that getting power to the ground and handling are higher concerns than outright power. I actually took my front shocks (yello Koni adjustables) off last weekend and put them on a harder setting, it transformed the roadholding and grip, now I just have to do the rear ones and maybe some additional stiffness, getting DO1J's on the front also tranformed grip, but alas they last me less than 6 months  . Mini Mad the best I have got so far is 186 atw on 14-15psi and that was running an AFR under boost of a flat 10:1. While it is difficult to be sure I think getting it back up to 11.8 -12 should deliver somewhere around the 200 mark and agreed I don't care if I really pass 200 it will be the increase in midrange that cleaning the AFR up will bring that will really make the difference. Ah to get an aftermarket ECU would be well handy...Still tinkering with the Jaycar DFA sitting in a box fully assembled

Cheers

Matt,

I had Falken's on the front and it was like driving on ice. I fitted D01J's and the transformation was amazing. The tyres are that sticky that they throw stones up into the guards.

I am interested to see how the Jaycar DFA works out.

^^ +1

A couple of the Austarlet boys tried it and they said it was more trouble than it was worth.

Still, I think it needs to be evaluated properly and Matt is our man (patience of a saint)!

Tricky,

'92' on this forum runs a DFA on his car and he said he had no trouble getting it tuned and it runs fine. I am definitely going to give one of these a ago..just a lot of work to get to that point for me thats all.

Cheers

Have at it Pubs, and good luck.

If you can get it to operate relaibaly, its worth cosidering as a cost effective way of metering!

Matt/Pubs,

Do you intend to, or are you, using the Jaycar Independent Electronic Boost Controller too?

Cheers,
Tricky

I am using a Jaycar dfa and it works fine leaned mixtures out where required and was able to trick the over boost cut but on cold days it still sometimes touches it. The tuner I went to said don't use a Jaycar boost controller unless you want to spent a real long time to set it up because you have to enter a number for every load point can't copy and it is very time consuming.
About power outputs as has been said you have to ba able to use it. My car has an LSD about 170 hpatw and it will spin the tyres in third gear and jump all over the road and is not fun to drive while doing this it does have crap tyres though so having more power would sound nice but in reallty it would be useless because you can't use it unless you want to end up into a tree or someting.Or does my car handle that much worse than other peoples?
