Hi all, fired the motor up this afternoon, runs as sweet as a nut... that means good even tho it doesnt really make sense.
So now the hunt is on for the car, looked at one this evening but it was too rusty and too expensive, especially for a tight bastard like me!!
I am getting all excited about getting things under way, it will happen at a fair rate once I have a body to play with.
Still havent thought too much about sticking pics up but will soon.
Cheers, hic,

Michael

Ok, so bugger all has happened lately, other than spending a few weeks moving and re-establishing my factory. That is the worst job anyone should ever have to do... guaranteed.
So onto more important stuff, purchased the bodyshell and stuff from Brisbane (of course) nothing in Sydney it appears, so on with the next road trip. Will be picking up on the 29th Dec and cruising back, the serious stuff will commence soon after.
The seller of the body, (luckily not the one he uses to walk around) may reveal himself, cos I aint telling!!
Will report more when it happens, but still not up to organising pictures.

Cheers

Michael

PS The second mini may appear soon, I aint telling tale about it yet tho

Well, today was the day that I bid farewell to Crusty Octavius, who has been in my keep for some time.

Mick from Sydney arrived bright and early to load Crusty onto the back of the Ford one-tonner, and I have to say he only just fit!!!

Crusty is going to a good home, he is going to be prepped for tarmac rally and hillclimbs which his forebears competed in so admirably. It was good to know that Mick will take good care of him, and allow him to be the best that he can be. I must say though, I was a little sad to see him go!!

But, this has got to be one of the most rust free shells I have seen, and he is going to a good home.

The three of us (Mike, Howard and myself) pushed Crusty up onto the Ford (oh the shame, going home on the back of a Ford!). Lucky it was only slightly uphill! That's Mike in the sunglasses, and Howard with the cap on.

The ramps helped (from off the car trailer):

We let the tyres down to allow Crusty to sit just in front of the tray lip, and to increase the rolling resistance:

But he wasnt going anywhere; ready to hit the open road back to Sydney:

Fare-the-well gentle steed, ride like the wind. And this endeth this particular chapter in Crusty's life, his association with Qik Brix Racing and myself comes to an end. It is now up to Mike to carry on this story, and I am sure it will be a most splendid read.

Cheers and bye Crusty (sniff, sniff) :(
Tricky

Hi all, pics show as best I can do the modified exhaust manifold, the ports are opened up to a much smoother flow than standard.

By the way, I am chasing a few bits and pieces... I need a drivers side lower door hinge if anyone has one to sell, I am also after a good set of starlet instruments, as mine were damaged and I want to use the starlet steering column, controls and it would make sense to match the instruments in too. Just PM me if you can help, thanks guys.

There will be a bunch of other things, but this will keep me going...
It is a real s**t that there is so much of the threads missing, does anyone know if it will all get sorted??

Cheers,
Michael

Apparently this year the track is not being used, but I hope we can catch up when the event is in the area. I have not planned on competing this year but am on for 2009. I will be there regardless as an official of the event tho.
Should I miraculously get a whole bunch of spare time there is a slight possibility of running but it is only slight...
